Beijing Aircraft Brake Technology Co. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Company), co-founded by CACS, Beijing Aviation Material Research Institute and Beijing Friction Material Factory in 1986, is a high-tech enterprise dedicated in the research, development, manufacture, sales and service of airplane breaking device. Back to the late of 1970s, the foreign supply of airplane breaking device became quite critical, which already endangered the normal operation of many fleets. The Civil Aviation Administration of China(CAAC), with support from State Council, National Planning Committee and National Defense Technology Committee, initiated the project for domestic manufacture of airplane breaking device, which finally results in the foundation of the Company. Ever since the beginning of the Company, the design and manufacture of the products has been in compliance with airworthiness standards issued by CAAC and US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which makes the Company¡¯s breaking device fully qualified substitutes for the imported. At present, the Company has successfully built up its business on its own brand and made remarkable contribution to national aviation industry. Up to the present, the Company has successfully developed brake device for over ten types of airplanes, including An-24, An-26, An-20, IL-18, IL-62, Tu-134, Tu-154, Boeing707, Boeing737, Boeing 767 and MD82 etc. As the service experience accumulated with airlines, the brake products has greatly improved and gradually evolved into an equivalent for its foreign competitors in quality and age while with apparently lower price. Currently the Company¡¯s braking devices have been widely used on a large number of fleet by airlines as an alternative for the imported. Thus the operation of airlines can be better supported with lower cost. At present, the Company has shared about 95% brake market of domestic Boeing 737 and MD82 fleet. In order to keep up with the rapid development of new technology and evolving challenge of China civil aviation industry, the Company has also put much resources and cooperative efforts in the development of next generation product, such as carbon complex brake. The Company has obtained National Technology Development Award, National Innovation Award and Technology Development Awards from National Defense Technology Committee, AVIC, CAAC and Beijing Government.
