Hunan Boyun Novel Materials Co. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Company), the former Powder Metallurgy Institute of South Central University, was reorganized into a joint-stock company and registered in Yuelushen National Collage Technology Zone of Changsha in Hunan province in July 2001.

The Company is primarily engaged in research, manufacture and sale of novel materials related with powder metallurgy, such as friction material, carbon/complex material, and nanometer material, along with related equipments. The major products of the Company include powder metallurgy and carbon/complex airplane brake disk, automobile braking device, aeronautic carbon/complex and powder metallurgy equipment. The Company has obtained ISO9001-2000 International Quality Assurance System Certification and GJB/Z9001-2000 Quality Assurance System Certification.

As a high-tech enterprise with academic background, the Company takes the technical and human resource advantages in its technical development and management team, which includes a group of national academicians and high level experts with PHD or Master degrees, and the products of the Company widely spread into aviation, aerospace, automobile and defense industry. The Company is expected to be growing at a high speed in the coming years.

The key product of the Company for recent years is the carbon/complex airplane brake disk, which is also a part of National Keystone Industrial Experimental Projects.

The Company is the sixth enterprise in the world with this technology after the other five in U.S., British and France, and is the only one in China. The rising of the Company actually breaks the technical bulwark for this product and makes remarkable contribution to aviation and defense industries of China.

Furthermore, the Company’s innovative product, asbestos free automobile brakes, is a green product of environmental protection and technical advantage, which is supported by the 863 High-Tech Dedication Project Funding of National Science and Technology Department in the Ninth Five National Planning. With the compulsive implementation of de-asbestos regulation for automobile break liner, this product shows great market potentials.
