The Standing Committee of CAS Labor Union Holds First Extended Meeting in 2015

On July 30, the standing committee of CAS Labor Union held the first extended meeting in 2015. Members of the standing committee of CAS Labor Union and chairmen of subsidiary unions in Beijing attended the meeting, while those outside Beijing participated in the meeting through video conference. The meeting was presided over by Chairman Zhu Haiping. CAS Party Secretary Jia Baojun attended the meeting and delivered an important speech.

Taking the implementation of the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s speech at mass organizations work conference as a starting point, Jia Baojun put forward new requirements. He pointed out that, the labor union, an important part of mass organizations, will face more complicated situations and bigger challenges in the new historic period. Therefore, it should shoulder more responsibilities and its importance will be more prominent. Through President Xi’s elaboration on mass organizations, we could sort out how to better advance labor union work in the new era. He demanded that, party committees at all levels should make more support and resources available to labor unions, lead them to innovate in the activities of labor unions, and give new meaning to the popular activities. He stressed that, labor unions should deeply understand President Xi’s speech and build “two trusts” around “three centers”, i.e. centered on the Party Committee, enterprise development, and employees. Meanwhile, make efforts to build labor unions into trusted homes of employees, and union officials trusted family members.

Zhu Haiping reviewed the work in the first half of the year, and raised a four-point requirement. First, the labor union should be more competent and active. Second, everyone should strengthen study to improve your capability. Third, each one should carry out down to earth work in an attitude of “three stricts and three earnests”. Fourth, we should be self-disciplined, manage and use the funds well.

The meeting conveyed the spirit of President Xi’s speech on mass organizations work conference and the spirit of the Budget Review Meeting of civil aviation labor unions, exchanged views on the works of the first half of the year, and listened to the report on the two chapters of the Labor Union Work Manual compiled by CAS Labor Union Office.
