China Civil Aviation Development Forum 2015 was held in Beijing on June 24-25 under the theme of “Strategic Cooperation of Silk Road Economies through Improved Air Connectivity”. The forum was hosted by Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and sponsored by CAS.
After the Chinese government put forward the development vision and action plans of “One Belt and One Road” initiative, it was the first time for China and countries along the Belt and Road as well as international civil aviation industry to carry out multilateral discussions and exchange activities on civil aviation. There were four sessions and four panels. The sessions included Constructing Win-Win Cooperation with “One Belt and One Road”, Improving Connectivity to Create a New Vision for Future Cooperation, Innovation to Plan for Aviation Development in the Future, and Collaborated Efforts to Create a New Era for Regional Economies. From both theory and practice, the contents of the lectures and discussions covered an authoritative interpretation of “One Belt and One Road”, the consensus and vision of regional integration of civil aviation, the countermeasures and specific action plans of connectivity and others. It had in-depth exchange of views on the role civil aviation will play in connectivity from different views and aspects, and mainly discussed how to create a comprehensive cooperation platform for civil aviation, accelerate the enhancing of aviation infrastructures and better support the implementation of the national strategy.
A total of 400 guests from 24 countries and regions attended the forum. Administrator Li Jiaxiang of CAAC delivered a keynote speech. CAS President Li Hai chaired a Panel discussion on the topic of Improving Infrastructure Network to Enhance Regional Connectivity. He had an in-depth analysis and discussion on the significance of infrastructure network construction on connectivity and how to enhance regional connectivity with Honeywell, Qantas Airways, Embraer, Guangdong Airport Authority, and Sabre Airline Solutions.
