CAS Signed One Framework Agreement of Helicopter Final Assembly Line with Airbus Helicopter Company at Beijing

On June 13, CAS, Qingdao Joint General Aviation Industry Development Co, Ltd, and Airbus Helicopter Company signed the framework agreement about constructing H135 helicopter final assembly line at Sino-German Ecopark on the west coastline of Qingdao in China. This agreement becomes specific implementation of a Letter of Intent signed in last October. The final assembly line that has been completely constructed will become the first final-assembly line of Airbus Helicopter in China.
This agreement was jointly signed by Mr. Li Hai of CAS General Manager and Mr. Wolfgang Schoder of Airbus Helicopter Germany CEO at Great Hall of the People. Mr. Li Keqiang of China Premier of State Council and Ms. Angela Merkel who was visiting China jointly witnessed this signing ceremony.
As per this agreement, Airbus Helicopter will construct one H135 serial helicopter final assembly line at Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark, and will establish a joint venture with Chinese partner. It is planned that this final assembly line would be put into service in the year of 2018. Its design capacity is 36 aircraft per year. After this final assembly line is put into service, it will become the unique industry base of light helicopter family of Airbus Helicopter in China.
Meanwhile, Chinese joint entity that consists of Qingdao Joint General Aviation Industry Development Co, Ltd and its partners also signed the purchase and distribution agreement of 100 sets of H135 helicopters, and becomes the initiation client of China final assembly H135 helicopter and the largest distributor of Airbus Helicopter in China, which has established the industry cooperation foundation to construct H135 final assembly line at the city of Qingdao, Shandong Province.

H135 has become the most popular light two-engine helicopter in China at current stage. With its advanced technique, compact configuration, small rotor(wing) diameter, perfect cabin dimension and supreme two-engine power performance, this helicopter has been mainly operated in public service aspect, including those tasks of Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), police aviation, patrol control, fire-fighting, search, tour and commercial transportation, etc. At present, almost 1200 sets of H135 helicopters around the world have been delivered and operated in excess of 3-million accumulative flight hours.
